Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures 2022-2023

Student Safety is our First Priority!


The North Primary staff does everything they can to encourage parents to follow the parking lot rules and maximize traffic flow. The staff knows that your time is precious, but the safety of every student is our priority.


Student Drop Off in the Morning:

Student drop-off begins at 8:40 AM when teachers begin morning duty. 


  • Vehicles are not permitted to make a left-hand turn into the school parking lot(s). 
  • Vehicles will need to enter the parking lot by way of School Road from the bypass. All turns into the parking lot are right-hand turns only. 
    • To help keep traffic off School Road in the morning, please loop through the faculty and staff parking lot.
    • Have your child exit the vehicle when your car has stopped along the overhang. We ask that you do not wait until you are in front of the main doors.
    • Students should have their belongings collected before exiting the vehicle. They must exit the vehicle from the passenger side and be able to get themselves out of the car without help from their parent/guardian.
    • Parents are to remain inside their vehicle – do not leave your vehicle unattended.
    • Once your child has exited the vehicle, immediately exit the drop-off area. Do not wait until your child is inside the school before pulling forward.
  • When exiting the drop-off area, all traffic must turn right onto School Road. 
  • Never pull around a vehicle in front of you unless directed by a staff member to do so.

By adhering to the above procedures, we are confident that the drop-off line will be much quicker and smoother for all involved.


Please note: If you arrive after 8:50 AM, park your vehicle in the parking lot and escort your child into the building. You will need to sign them in with the building secretary. The school secretary will issue your child a tardy pass they will give their classroom teacher.



Student Pick Up in the Afternoon:


Please do not arrive at the school before 3:10 PM. 

We need to keep the fire lane in front of the school open until dismissal begins at 3:20 PM. 


Students picked up at the end of the day will be dismissed at 3:15 PM to report to their designated location.

  • Vehicles are not permitted to make a left-hand turn into the school parking lot(s).
  • Vehicles will need to enter the parking lot by way of School Road from the bypass. All turns into the parking lot are right-hand turns only. 
    • To help keep traffic off School Road in the afternoon, please loop through the faculty and staff parking lot. 
    • We ask that you do not arrive at the school before 3:10 PM so that you do not interfere with Head Start’s dismissal or early dismissals. 
    • Please pull up under the overhang and remain in your vehicle. Do not exit your vehicle for any reason.
  • IF YOUR CHILD IS AN EVERYDAY PICK-UP, PLEASE HAVE YOUR SCHOOL-ISSUED DASHBOARD TAG DISPLAYED SO THE TEACHER CAN IDENTIFY YOUR VEHICLE NUMBER. PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO PICK UP YOUR 2022-2023 SCHOOL-ISSUED DASHBOARD TAG. 724-845-2032.
  • If you pick your child up on occasion, you will continue to follow the procedures previously in place. You will need to either send a note with your child in the morning or send an email to the teacher and secretary, preferably before 9:00 AM. Dismissal is from the front of the school. We do not issue dashboard tags to families who are occasional pick-ups.
    • We dismiss four/five students at a time after they check in with the teacher. Once your child has entered the vehicle, immediately exit the pick-up area. 
  • When exiting the drop-off area, all traffic must turn right onto School Road.

***Please note: If you forget to send a note in the morning, you must contact the school no later than 2:00 p.m.; otherwise, they will need to ride the school bus home.***
