Principal's Message

Dear North Primary School Families,

On behalf of the faculty and staff at North Primary School, I would like to welcome back those families that were a part of the North Primary School community last year.  In addition, we would like to extend a warm welcome all of our new students and their families.  You are coming to an absolutely magnificent school. Our teachers and staff are passionate, caring, hardworking, and always willing to learn something new for the benefit of your children. We are a collaborative and driven group of individuals who take learning seriously while also making personal connections that help our students succeed.

The 2019-20 school year is officially underway! When visiting North Primary you will see a few "new faces" that have joined our family:

  • Mrs. Sara Orange will be teaching learning support (2nd and 3rd grade)
  • Mr. Nathan Ehrlich will be teaching kindergarten (KA)
  • Mr. Jay Jefferson will be teaching fourth grade (4D)
  • Mr. Joe Steeves will be teaching computers
  • Mr. Joseph Scheller will be teaching music
  • Mrs. Virginia Hambersky will be the CA working with Mrs. Hepler (K, 1, & 4)

We look forward to seeing you at our Open House set to take place on Monday, September 30th. Come and meet your child’s teacher(s). They will be sharing valuable information will be shared with you regarding our Title I school-wide program as well as information specific to their classroom. Visit the fall book fair in the library and enjoy a treat afterwards provided by the North Primary PTO.

Once again this year we will be implementing our school-wide positive behavior plan at North Primary! Behavior expectations have been identified and will be recognized by the faculty and staff when students display these behaviors. Special event opportunities will take place each nine week period in conjunction with our school-wide positive behavior program. The Big Buck Breakfast will continue this year and will be held on a monthly basis. More information will be coming home and posted to the website in the weeks to come.

There will be numerous opportunities this year for you and your child to participate in.  Family Literacy, Math, and Science Nights, as well as Principal Coffees/parent informational sessions are being planned in conjunction with PTO events.  Once again, there will be an opportunity for you to have lunch with your child on his or her birthday. Look for more information regarding these and other exciting events & activities to come.

We are looking for family members who are able to come in to the school to work with small groups of students in grades K-2 on various skills and concepts such as: spelling/phonics, math facts, and sight words. Volunteers do not have to be members of the PTO but do have to have current clearances as well as be available from 8:30-9:00 AM. one or two days per week. If you or another family member such as a grandparent, aunt, or uncle is interested please contact me at the school or email me at: christine.ross@kiskiarea.com

I look forward to a positive and productive school year! If you ever have a question or a concern, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school or via email at christine.ross@kiskiarea.com.

In Partnership,
